I built this just to test this out. If you'd like to see more of what I write, look up "FashionObserved” on Google. I also post many of articles on LinkedIn but if you do not have access to this social network you can always follow “FashionObserved” on Twitter as I post the same articles there.
There are some who think that accreditation is the hallmark of how educated one is. Unfortunately I have met some people with superlative educational credentials that were really bad at what they did, and conversely met some who were quite good at what they did who did so without having attended post-secondary education. This doesn’t mean they were ill-informed but rather were afforded the opportunity to be heard and to create without doubt obstructing their progress and proved their abilities through self-directed efforts. As a result, they not only thrived but elevated their craft and industry in the process.
In fact, some of the most creative minds and most successful business people that our society lauds have ever completed formal education. Yet our country, burdened by self-defeating insecurity, still seems to be stuck on the insistence of these credentials to our detriment. Would successful inviduals such as Rei Kawakubo or Sir Richard Branson be where they are if they attempted to mimic their success in our country under similar conditions?
With changes in online education being disseminated for free, we are seeing the opportunity for many to continually educate themselves without certification. It is time for industries to look at a better interview and screening process instead of demanding accreditation alone or primarily as a component of potential and qualifications if we want to open doors to success not only for those who seek a career but as well for companies and organizations that are sincere about growth.
Thank you for your time.
